Rashid Kicks Off In-Person Event Series with 3 Rallies Across VA-01

8/31/2020

“We are going to win this election because we’re going to hustle harder than our opponent,” says Ayodele Okeowo, Campaign Manager

STAFFORD, VA. - Qasim Rashid, Democratic Nominee for Congress in Virginia’s First Congressional District will be holding 20 events in every county (and the city of Fredericksburg) in VA-01 over the next two months.

The first three rallies were held this weekend in King William County, King & Queen County, and Fauquier County. Roughly 100 people attended throughout the weekend. Masks were required to attend.

“My campaign is committed to accessibility,” says Qasim Rashid. “Every part of the First District has different challenges, especially now as we’re facing the COVID-19 crisis, and I want to hear from everyone.”

“This weekend, our events raised awareness on voter registration, the absentee ballot request process, and ensuring that all of our votes are counted,” Qasim continued. “I’m looking forward to the next 17 events we’ll be hosting.”

“We are going to win this election because we’re going to hustle harder than our opponent,” says campaign manager Ayodele Okeowo. “We had a tremendous turnout this weekend, despite the rain. The events we held were safe, informative, and our campaign continued it’s commitment to VA-01. A few weeks ago we successfully and safely held a series of events all over the first district. We’re looking forward to continuing our campaign’s commitment to connecting with voters up until November 3rd.”

Republican Opponent, Rep. Rob Wittman has not held a public in-person town hall since March 2019.
